At times, staff may need to send emails from the team email address, instead of their personal primary email address. For example, members of the sales team may need to send messages from a sales@domain.com address.
To set this up:
- Create a Distribution List for the team email address.
- Add the team members to the Distribution List.
- Add permissions to "Send as" or "Send on behalf of" the Distribution List.
"Send as" and "Send on behalf of" permissions can also be granted For example, a personal assistant may need to send meeting requests on your behalf.
Permissions to "Send as" or "Send on behalf of" can also be set for individual mailboxes. For example, a personal assistant may need to send meeting requests on a person's behalf.
"Send as" v "Send on behalf of"
With a "Send as" setup, the email will appear to be sent directly from the address. The recipient will not perceive the originating mailbox.
With a "Send on behalf of" setup, the email will appear to be sent as the address, but the sender's personal primary address will also appear to the recipient.
Next Steps
Distribution Lists can be created on the OneNet Control Panel by the Administrator of the organisation. Permissions can then be granted by the Manager of the Distribution List.
