Spam Digests are the messages you receive nightly showing all the spam you received in the past 24 hours. These can be customized to go to different people, to only show certain types or spam, or to be sent out more regularly.
This can be done by logging in to the Message Protect Admin Portal and going to "Policy Elements" then "Message Digests".
In here, press the "Add" button to set up a custom digest.
First, give this digest a name, chose how this digest is delivered, and select a template to use (what is contained in the message). For information on setting up a new template, check out our Message Template article.
For a standard digest, we recommend selecting "users are subscribed by default" and to unselect "Digest messages for SQM users only", however pick whatever options best suit your needs.
On the "Folders" tab, you can select what kind of messages are checked, incoming, outgoing, spam, suspected spam or viruses. For a standard digest, we recommend selecting the following 4 (as viruses are already alerted on as the come in, and confirmed spam may not need to be reviewed):
Out of the selections you made on the previous tab, the "Classifications" tab will let you further filter to specific types of blocks, such as dead letters, types of attachments, types of spam or types of viruses. For a standard digest, we recommend selecting the spam options (as viruses are already alerted on as the come in):
"User Groups" is where this can be scoped to a specific user or group. For information on setting up a new User Group, check out our User Groups article.
This can be for if you only want this digest to go to certain users in your organization. You can use the arrows to move groups between sections. For a standard digest, we recommend including "All Domains":
Under "Schedules" you can select when you would like this digest to go out. This will depend on your requirements, however you can set any time(s) or day(s) which make sense:
Note: If you only want your users to receive your custom digest, and not the default nightly digest, users will need to unsubscribe from the default digest. This can be done by following a link a the bottom of previous digests they have received, stating "To unsubscribe from this digest, use the following link".
